Position Description
Job Purpose: Primary liaison for Security Programs working with Sales, Service, Sustaining Engineering, Product Management, Quality Assurance and customers. Manages contracts for CBP, CBPS, CBSA and FedEx Programs. Works with customers to ensure that their immediate and long-term requirements are met in a timely manner.
Key responsibilities and accountabilities:
oManaging the ordering and delivery process for equipment and software in accordance with program requirements.
oCreating effective business communication encompassing technical proposals for new customer requirements, business briefings and presentations.
oCoordinating and contributing to Certification / Evaluation trials for CBP, CBPS, CBSA and FedEx programs.
oIdentifying project support requirements of clients, and proposing appropriate solutions.
oLeading / facilitating meetings with customers, external companies, and Smiths teams on product and program requirements.
oTake proactive steps to grow the Security Program business.
oBenchmarking program management approaches and developments with customers, professional bodies and all organisations, and sharing best practice with other Smiths colleagues.
oParticipating in monthly Program Management Reviews.
oMentoring direct reports and other Smiths colleagues where appropriate.
oDirects all planning and monitors the activities of the cross-functional team required to meet program goals including completion of program deliverables during all the stage-gate phases.
oEstablishes program plans, including projections of required resources (effort, duration, cost, personnel, facilities, and equipment).
oPerforms risk analysis and manages a risk register to anticipate potential issues, defines and implements related risk mitigation plans, and follows mitigation plans through to completion.
oThe Senior Program Manger participates with other program managers and other functional areas in determining the business plan and project priorities, resource needs, and budgets based on the strategic directions.
o Ensures the quality and integrity of products and program deliverables. The Sr. Program Manager is expected to always be questioning/analyzing if any program deliverables are missing, and if the scope and content of program deliverables are optimized for the challenges in the program.
oProvides input and supports driving forward the continuous improvement of the policies, process, practices and templates associated with our stage-gate process
oComplying with and promoting all relevant legal requirements & Smiths policies and procedures, including business ethics, data protection and health & safety
Requirements
ROLE REQUIREMENTS:
Education/training:Essential: BA / BS in a technical discipline, or equivalent professional qualification. Trained in relevant and recognized program management discipline, e.g. ISO 21500 / 31000, PRINCE2, PMP Certification or PM training required.
Desirable: membership of appropriate professional body, e.g. PMI, IAPPM.
Experience:Essential: At least 10 years experience in program /project management, including 5 years experience in a supervisory role.
Desirable: Experience within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
Knowledge / skills/
other attributes:Essential: Competent in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project. Demonstrable capability in problem solving and commercial awareness. Able to effectively influence stakeholders within a matrix and culturally diverse organization, to understand and interpret commercial data / reports, and to communicate effectively in writing. Able to function under pressure in situations where only limited standardization exists and where program leadership is required.
Secret Clearance or the ability to obtain Secret Clearance Required
Supervises:Program employees as per project and business requirements.
Role dimensions:
Role may entail travel away from workplace / home up to 50%25%20of time, including possibly overseas.
Work environment: Work environment is typically an office environment located on-site, within a Smiths location during normal or extended business hours. Work environment may also include employee s residence, customer site or other location as required. Required to travel on an as needed basis

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
