Summary:
Under the direction of the AVP branch operations, is responsible for the leadership of the branch operation within assigned area, implementing and achieving results consistent with the strategic direction of the credit union.
Through effective leadership, embody the credit union mission, vision and values within the branch operation.
Reinforce the sales-oriented culture based on a service philosophy and implemented through a credit union wide cross-selling program.
Lead the team in the areas of operations, member experience, sales, safety and security.
Oversee and provide leadership to branch managers by visiting assigned branches to observe, train and supervise.
Essential Duties &
Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning:
Partner with branch management to execute corporate growth strategies for loans, shares and memberships.
Deliver results and advance strategic direction by identifying process improvement through procedures, processes and technology in support of member service.
Support new branch operating strategies, technology and budgets to enhance the member experience, and increase branch profitability and operating efficiency.
Ensure the mission, core values of the credit union and cooperative principles are put into practice within branch operations.
Create member-focused teams that meet or exceed goals and are accountable for producing results.
Provide coaching as a cornerstone for developing branch staff to create a pipeline of talent for immediate and long-term growth.
Control and contain costs within cost center budgets.
Culture and Leadership:
Demonstrate APGFCU leadership, cultural, and behavioral standards by modeling our expectations.
Serve as a strategic and operational leader while collaborating with business partners to achieve organizational objectives.
Build and nurture a culture that values strong relationships to influence desired outcomes, continuous improvement of business processes and achieve organizational goals through the commitment of serving the membership.
Commit to individual professional growth and development, and support the professional growth and development of all branch staff to include proper performance evaluations and implementation of disciplinary actions as required.
Serve as talent champion by actively mentoring and developing an exceptional leadership team focused on ensuring the highest-level of employee engagement.
Effectively lead teams through change management in partnership with other credit union functional areas.
Routinely perform branch supervisory duties and coordinate managerial coverage.
Visit each branch in assigned region to observe, coach and provide guidance.
Provide initial on-the-job training program for new branch managers to compliment core classroom training programs.
Coordinate area meetings to create opportunity for managers to collaborate and regularly attend branch meetings to provide management feedback to manager.
Member Experience and Sales:
Build and provide ownership, accountability, clear direction and intentional support to branch leadership to equip them to offer an exceptional member experience and sales culture environment through motivated, engaged team members.
Responsible for meeting goals assigned by the AVP branch operations to each branch under the direction of this position.
Demonstrate a passion for building and sustaining member relationships to the cooperative by coaching, mentoring, developing, and motivating peak performance.
Plan and direct activities to promote efforts to meet our mission of empowering members to use and control their own money through service and sales/meetings, tracking, coaching and follow up.
Report on performance levels to AVP branch operations.
Ensure business development goals and strategies are met by creating awareness and additional business for APGFCU through participating in branch initiatives with business development.
Address escalated member complaints; working toward a positive resolution and involving AVP branch operations in more complex matters.
Process Improvement/Project Management:
Assist AVP and VP branch operations with special projects, such as recommendations for new programs or products to assist APGFCU in meeting corporate goals and tracking/reporting of branch statistical data upon request.
Identify opportunities and propose solutions for improvement of member service processes.
Analyze branch requirements/processes, investigate operational problems and recommend solutions.
Recommend adjustments to workflow to streamline processes.
Explore, research and recommend new or enhanced technology and/or solutions which align with business goals.
Risk Management:
Ensure branch compliance with credit union policies, procedures, controls and operational integrity by completing quality inspections and monthly branch audits.
Monitor quality reports to evaluate trends and ensure resolution steps are taken.
Anticipate and/or investigate causes for inadequate results and consult with Human Resources for course correction.
Remain knowledgeable of changing regulations and requirements as well as procedures to assure regulatory compliance and ease of the branch operation.
Communicate and oversee regulations and requirement changes to appropriate personnel.
Display strong financial acumen, including knowledge of banking industry, products and current lending trends.
Oversee procedural alignment to promote optimal safety and security for members and employees, and identify and address security lapses.
Provide support to branch staff; making procedure exceptions within authority and/or escalating recommended actions to AVP branch operations.
Other:
Perform other related duties as assigned or associated with the responsibility.
Additional:
Responsible for completion of applicable training and compliance on federal regulations and APGFCU policies and procedures as related to the duties of this position (Bank Secrecy Act, Information Security as examples, if applicable).
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, Finance or other related field.
Equivalent experience may be substituted.
Experience:
Five to seven years' experience in branch operations and demonstrated success in a quality service oriented financial institution environment with substantial lending background and a minimum of three years leadership experience.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
